THE ENGINE DEPARTMENT
This department is important for the propulsion of the ship. It is staffed by a small, but very well trained and competent group of professionals.
The Engine Department has the responsibility of maintaining and running the ship's engine as well as all peripheral and support systems including air conditioning, electrical power supply, water heating, and emergency equipment. The principal task of this department is to ensure that the engines of the ship are in good working order and continuously maintained and monitored.
They maintain a continuous check on the fuel system, monitor the temperature and oil pressure of the engines and conduct small or major repairs as necessary. They are also responsible for the fresh water supply system which must provide the passenger and crew on board with fresh water while at sea.
